Avalanche Classes:

San Juan Snowcat will be offering Level 1 Avalanche training courses:

 

 

 

AIARE - Level 1 - "Decision Making in Avalanche Terrain"

What to Expect:

1. Working AIARE (American Institute for Avalanche Research & Education) Instructors.
2. Each person will receive a certificate of completion.  Also kept on file with AIARE.
3. Price:  $TBD (as of Sept 1st) per person
4. Classes are three days long.  24 hours of total instruction.  Some classroom and then field study.
5. Available spots: 10 per class.  We can do multiples of 10 people as well.  This situation would require another instructor per 10 people.  Please contact us.
6. Bag lunch is suggested for each person while on mountain.  During class times lunch options are available.
7. Two runs of snowcat skiing will be provided on “field days”.  One in the morning and one in the afternoon after classes finish.
